Our farm is located in Green Mountain, NC, about an hour north of Asheville. Our growing methods incorporate no-till, organic, permaculture, polyculture and dry farming methods. All work is done with hand tools like a broadfork and shovels. We specialize in year round specialty green mixes along with other vegetables like sugar snap peas, summer squash, cucumbers, green beans, okra, strawberries, cherry tomatoes, nasturtiums, eggplant, etc.
Our primary farm operator and owner, Henry, has almost a decade of organic farming experience across the country, including as a farm manager of two previous farms and a market garden of similar style which has lead to this unique approach that integrates both farming and gardening techniques. His partner, Jackie, also assists in managing the farm and has a long history of working with animals, including primates. Currently she works full time as a vet tech and will be handling a flock of ducks that we are acquiring in the spring. We may also add some other livestock this year.
This year we will be selling at the Asheville City South Market in Biltmore Park Town Square starting the first week of April, every Wednesday 12-4, and the Yancey County Farmers Market in downtown Burnsville, starting in the last week of April, every Saturday 8-12. We also sell our produce to Mountain Foods which distributes to restaurants throughout the WNC area.
